Tanuf

Tanuf is one of Oman's quietly famous villages. The ruins of its old settlement, abandoned after fighting in the 1950s, stand against the Hajar foothills, while Wadi Tanuf carves a green, water-filled gorge nearby. The village even lends its name to a national bottled-water brand drawn from its spring. It is a place of nature and memory rather than bustle. For an investor Tanuf is firmly a niche, land-and-heritage proposition. There is little rental market to speak of, liquidity is very low, and foreign buyers face the strongest ownership limits of all, with rural land effectively reserved for Omani nationals. Any case here is speculative and very long term, suited only to specialist buyers.
