Sala Kamreuk

Siem Reap's leafy expat haven of riverside calm and the town's best restaurants

About Sala Kamreuk

Sala Kamreuk is where Siem Reap's long-term residents put down roots. The riverside commune holds the Wat Damnak and Wat Bo villages, quiet leafy streets and the highest concentration of acclaimed restaurants in town, from Cuisine Wat Damnak to garden bars, all just minutes from the center yet a world away from Pub Street's noise. It is consistently the most liveable area for residents and families. For investors, the appeal is long-stay expat demand and boutique character. Apartment yields reach 7.9-8.5%, and western-quality pool villas are in demand beyond supply. The caveats are honest: foreigners can own only strata units above the ground floor, and since most stock here is landed or boutique, foreign buyers usually need leasehold or company structures. In a USD-denominated, tourism-dependent market with thin villa resale liquidity, it rewards lifestyle-led, long-horizon buyers.
