About North York

North York Centre is Toronto’s "uptown", the city’s second high-rise core along Yonge between Sheppard and Finch, anchored by Mel Lastman Square, the North York Civic Centre, the Toronto Centre for the Arts and the North York Central Library. Built on top of the Yonge subway (Sheppard-Yonge, North York Centre and Finch stations), the heart of the corridor scores 99 on Walk Score and 90 on Transit Score, downtown access with more space and lower prices. It is one of Canada’s most diverse areas, mixing condo professionals and students near the stations with established, school-focused families on the side streets. For investors the pitch is value-with-transit, set against the 2025-26 condo reset (GTA condos ~-6% YoY), the federal ban to Jan 1, 2027 and the combined 35% foreign-buyer surcharge, best read as an income-oriented hold.
