Frederiksberg is the green jewel set into the middle of Copenhagen, technically its own municipality, and proud of it. Grand tree-lined avenues and leafy squares converge on the romantic Frederiksberg Gardens, a landscaped royal park that, with the bordering zoo and the wooded Søndermarken, gives the district a garden-city calm found nowhere else so close to a capital's centre. Copenhagen Business School anchors a serious academic presence, and the schools, brasseries and elegant shopping along Gammel Kongevej cement its grown-up appeal. This has long been one of the most prestigious addresses in Denmark, and the housing market reflects it: high prices, tight supply in the protected period blocks, and deep, low-vacancy demand. For foreign investors, though, Denmark's ownership rules are decisive, residency or special permission is generally required, banks expect a residence permit, and prime yields are thin. Frederiksberg rewards resident buyers and those with genuine Danish ties far more than passive overseas capital.
